The idea for HAFF Rum didn't begin with a business plan, but with passion and curiosity.
Back in 2016, the founders began experimenting with recipes – with nothing but a barrel, an old notebook, and a clear vision: to create a rum that is uncompromisingly good. Years of experimentation culminated in the birth of HAFF Rum in 2021. A spirit that not only tastes great but also makes a statement. Handcrafted with respect for tradition and the courage to be different.
What makes HAFF Rum special
CARIBBEAN IN EVERY FIBER
Nestled between volcanic slopes, rainforests, and coastlines, the finest sugarcane ripens, giving our rum its soul. It thrives under ideal conditions on islands like Cuba, Barbados, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. The sweet, golden molasses is harvested where rum isn't just drunk, but a way of life – accompanied by locally cultivated yeast, traditional sugar mills, and plenty of patience. This is how a rum with depth, origin, and tropical character is created.
MATURATION & REFINING
After fermentation, the rum is distilled in traditional copper pot stills and aged for up to five years in carefully selected oak barrels. The Caribbean warmth, humidity, and wood shape the aroma – with notes of vanilla, dried fruit, and spices. Finally, the rum undergoes a finishing touch in Germany. In the shadow of ancient walls, right on the rugged coast, it receives its final polish: finer, smoother, more balanced.
